Miller J. Roberts, III has a few things to say!

John Stossel: Here is a subject matter.

A recent post on techdirt.com caught my attention, and I want to evoke the “Give me a break” powers of John Stossel.

According to the post, a judge has decided that copyright cease-and-desist letters can be copyrighted.  Atrocius and egregious is what comes to mind, and techdirt.com is right on target with their assessment of the situation.

I wrote about John Palfrey’s posting about John Moore, who received a cease-and-desist letter in error from Viacom.  As Palfrey notes, there are plenty of Moores out there, and they should be able to talk about their letter, post their letter, and seek assistance with defending themselves.  The public has a right to know and communicate whether a large company is abusing their powers and the legal system.

John Stossel, this ruling on cease-and-desist letters needs your “Give me a break” coverage.
